A coming-of-age travel adventure of an Anglo-Caribbean man who flees Britain, to West Africa, in the early 1980s. In search of his African identity, he discovers through his experiences & encounters the meaning of life and love.This is a story about a young black man who has issues with being raised in Britain in the 1970s-80s and facing the dilemma that Black Brits continue to face – who are they, and how can they create an authentic life for themselves in a racist world? The solution to that dilemma for Mani, the protagonist, is to travel to Africa and discover himself as a man freed from racism.
