This means that God laid the foundation but left each person free to choose which stone to build upon. Some build with patience, humility, love and others with physical attractions. Others build with ego and the pursuit of materialistic interests. In any case, no one can accuse God of being responsible for the failure or success of a marriage. The simple way to understand what I am saying is to look at marriages around the world. It is easy to notice that the peace or success of a marriage is not dependent on faith in Christ. On the contrary, many pagan homes are far more stable than the vast majority of Christian homes.
