About Candace King
Candace King has a Master of Public Administration from Park University where she also earned a graduate certificate in Project Management. Candace also received an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University in Behavioral Science. She is the founder of the Beautiful, Brown BOLD Women Project, a project created to help 100 brown women from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania combat wage gap issues, gun violence and health disparities earning her a citation of service to the community from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and an invitation to the first White House State of Women Summit. Her life work is uplifting and celebrating people of African descent and made this realization as a teenager when she produced and directed fashion and talent showcases for Black youth. She continued this work by showcasing models and designers in the Pittsburgh area through her former company, Crowned King Entertainment. Candace worked as a consultant helping local Black-owned businesses make their dreams a reality. When she was not doing this she was either volunteering to cook at a local shelter, conducting resume blitzes on social media, or teaching workshops on etiquette and what it is to be a Black woman at a local teen shelter and university. After becoming a licensed real estate agent, and realizing how redlining directly impacted her community, Candace created King Property Investments LLC, an organization that fights gentrification by creating rent-to-own opportunities in targeted low-income neighborhoods. She helped her first family in the community where she was raised, Braddock, Pennsylvania. Her hope is to continue to empower, encourage and educate people of African descent by expanding her efforts internationally.
