Graphic Design or Communication Design dates back to the prehistoric period when primitive people used to draw pictures of animals on the walls of caves. It was because of the influence of surrounding nature on their lives, communication with others, or for the sake of magic. Though the history of Graphic Design dates back to primitive cave paintings and decorations made of ceramics and manuscripts. However, the formal label of “Graphic Design” started to gain popularity at the beginning of the 20th Century, but the generalized phrase did not become popular until after World War II. By the end of the 19th century, Graphic Design emerged as a new profession in the West. In 1922, typographer William A. Dwiggins coined the term Graphic Design to identify it as an emerging field.
