Lot is a book about lot. Lot turned into a pillar of salt because of looking backwards to see how God was destroying Sodom and Gomorrah with rains of fire. This happened because they were told to go to a nearby town and never look back, because God was to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their wicked behaviours.
